Here is a NO RIGHT CLICK code:

<SCRIPT language=JavaScript> <!--
// No rightclick script v.2.5
// (c) 1998 barts1000
// ba*******@aol.com
// Don't delete this header!

var message="Sorry, that function is disabled.\n\nContents Copyright
©Online Options 1998-2000."; // Message for the alert box

// Don't edit below!

function click(e) {
if (document.all) {
if (event.button == 2) {
alert(message);
return false;
}
}
if (document.layers) {
if (e.which == 3) {
alert(message);
return false;
}
}
}
if (document.layers) {
document.captureEvents(Event.MOUSEDOWN);
}
document.onmousedown=click;
// --> </SCRIPT>

which might frustrate legitimate uses (e.g., bookmarking the site, not
something one normally wants to discourage), but which has no chance
of preventing me from right clicking and getting the context menu.

But why bother with that? There are are several ways to observe the source code
with the "NO RIGHT CLICK" code included.

One way is to simply run the page through an HTML Validator with the "view
source" feature activated.

To hide your source, generate it with MS Office (Word or PowerPoint).
Nobody will be able to read it.

If this is a serious query, you are being fooled by an inferior
browser. I am able to see the source code just fine in Mozilla by
selecting "View source".

Having been the original namer of Flavell's Law, I now venture to
propound Brown's Corollary: Any source that an author _tries_ to
hide isn't worth viewing.

As others have mentioned, the source code is there after a bunch of

Embarrassment? :-)

I've been thinking for a while that that phenomenon deserves a name! It
seems to have even fewer counter-examples than Flavell's Law - i.e. I
have yet to see one. As however it is somewhat independent from
Flavell's Law, I think we could call it Brown's Law.
